London, United Kingdom (uk.gov.krd)- Mr Karwan Jamal Tahir, the Kurdistan Regional Government High Representative to the United Kingdom visited the Halabja University and was welcomed by with Dr Idris Karim, the Chancellor of the University and the Board Members.
This year during the commemoration of Halabja Day on 16 March, as part of campaign to raise 31,000 books for the spirit of 5000 Martyrs, the KRG UK Representation initiated a campaign in the UK to raise academic resources for Halabja University. Through the support of donors from the UK community and the Kurdish diaspora, the Representation successfully collected precious books of various disciplines and delivered them to the University.
At the meeting, Dr Idris thanked Mr Karwan and the donors for supporting this initiative and highlighted the University’s strategy to build partnership with universities around the world. Mr Karwan reaffirmed the KRG UK Representation’s commitment to support the University in its future endeavours.
