High Representative receives Governor of Sulaymaniyah

London, United Kingdom, www.uk.gov.krd. High Representative Karwan Jamal Taher welcomed Dr. Haval Abubakar, Governor of Sulaymaniyah.

The meeting focused on regional developments and security challenges in the Middle East. Both sides addressed the rapidly evolving situation in the region, with particular attention to developments in western Kurdistan and their implications for security and stability, and underscored the importance of national cohesion and Kurdish unity in confronting emerging threats.

The discussion also highlighted the role of the Kurdish diaspora, especially in Europe, in advocating for Kurdish rights and mobilising international support for the Kurdish cause.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Governor Abubakar presented the KRG High Representative with an album featuring works by the acclaimed Kurdish artist Lala Abdi, in a gesture recognising Kurdish cultural heritage.
