Announcement regarding e-visa to enter Kurdistan Region

We would like to inform our citizens who hold British passports themselves or their children to follow the points below before traveling to the Kurdistan Region:

•Regarding those who hold British passports and are also citizens of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, whether their passports state that or have an Iraqi document, they do not need to obtain an e-visa to enter the Kurdistan Region. The same procedure applies to their children if they have documents that they are citizens of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, or their passports state they are citizens of the region.

• Citizens whose passports do not indicate that they are from the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, and do not have any Iraqi documents, should apply for an e-entry visa before traveling through the e-visa portal of the Ministry of Interior. Visas will no longer be issued on arrival at the Kurdistan Region’s airports and border crossings.

• Children visiting the Kurdistan Region with their parents, who were born in the UK or anywhere outside Kurdistan Region, and do not have any Iraqi documents must apply for an e-visa through the same e-portal of the KRG’s Ministry of Interior e-visa portal before traveling to the Kurdistan Region.
