Kurdistan PM Congratulates Boris Johnson on Premiership

ERBIL – Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has offered his congratulations to Boris Johnson on his election as the new prime minister of the UK, hoping for closer cooperations with him in regional and international subjects.

PM Barzani also wished success for Johnson in his new service, pointing out that the Kurdistan Region and UK have a historic friendship and thanked him for his support to the region, saying that Erbil views him as a reliable source of help.

The Kurdish premier further noted that he is willing to have closer cooperation with his newly elected UK counterpart in the regional and international issues.

Johnson, who previously served as the foreign secretary and mayor of London, succeeded Theresa May as the future premier of the UK after he defeated Jeremy Hunt in the Conservative Party’s leadership contest.
