High Representative Addresses UK Lawmakers on Evolving Regional Situation

London, United Kingdom, www.uk.gov.krd. KRG High Representative Karwan Jamal Tahir has held talks with John Selinger, Chairman of the the British Parliament’s APPG on Kurdistan Region, alongside several MPs and members of the House of Lords.

During the meeting, Mr. Tahir delivered a briefing on the current situation in the Kurdistan Region and the wider Middle East, including the impact of ongoing tensions involving Iran, the United States and Israel. He reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region’s commitment to regional stability, stressing the importance of diplomacy and peaceful dialogue as the primary means of resolving conflict.

High Representative underlined that the Kurdistan Region is not a party to regional disputes and does not pose a threat to neighbouring countries. He also condemned repeated attacks targeting economic and civilian infrastructure, as well as the Peshmerga forces, describing such incidents as a source of ongoing concern.

Discussions focused on the need to strengthen continued cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and the United Kingdom, with participants highlighting the value of sustained political engagement.
