London, United Kingdom (uk.gov.krd)- A delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government United Kingdom Representation attended the annual Labour Party Conference in Brighton. During the conference, the KRG delegation met with labour MPs, Lords, government officials, diplomats and international delegates and participated at several fringes and receptions.
On the sidelines of the conference, High Representative Karwan Jamal Tahir met with the Shadow Foreign Secretary Emily Thornbury, Minister for Peace and Disarmament Fabian Hamilton and FCO Minister for Africa Rebecca Long-Baily. Mr Tahir express the appreciation of the Kurdish leadership and the people of Kurdistan for their continued support to the Peshmerga in their fight against the terror organisation Daesh on behalf of the world. As well as updating the Ministers on the latest political and economic developments in Kurdistan, Iraq and the wider region.
In response, the Ministers acknowledged the UK and Kurdistan Region’s mutual interests in developing a stable region. They also agreed on the importance of further cooperation in key areas of defence, security, trade and prosperity.
