Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani meets with British Ambassador to Iraq

Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani today received a delegation headed by British Ambassador to Iraq, Mark Bryson-Richardson, and British Consul General in Erbil, David Hunt.

During the meeting, both sides agreed the post-election period in Iraq is a critical moment for Iraq and urged for all parties to engage in meaningful dialogue and expedite the formation of a government that prioritises the interests of the citizens of Iraq.

Deputy Prime Minister Talabani also reaffirmed the need for Kurdish parties to present a united front and work together in Baghdad to advance the interests and rights of the people of the Kurdistan Region.

Joined by Deputy Head of the Department of Foreign Relations (DFR), Daban Shadala, the Deputy Prime Minister thanked the UK for its ongoing support to the KRG and welcomed the opportunity to strengthen bilateral ties.
