London, United Kingdom (uk.gov.krd) – High Representative Karwan Jamal Tahir, warmly welcomed H.E. Mohammad Jaafar Al-Sadr, the Iraqi Ambassador to the UK, at the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Representation Office in London.
High Representative Tahir and H.E ambassador Al-Sadr discussed the latest developments in Iraq including the Kurdistan Region, and the wider region. They stressed the necessity of diplomatic approaches in addressing the matters and making sure that Iraq should not be a battlefield for external powers to settle their differences.
They also emphasized the significant importance of continued coordination between the embassy and the representation.
Mr. Tahir stated that Iraq is undergoing a very challenging time and all our hope is that “the formation of the new cabinet will be soon and meet the demands of the protestors”, and also have an understanding of Iraq’s complexity, and resolve the issues constitutionally.”
Ambassador Al-Sadr stated that the political system in federal Iraq is democratic and parliamentary and that the new government cabinet should be formed within 30 days, and they will take all necessary measures to address the demonstrators’ concerns and prepare for an early election.
