Kurdistan Medical and Scientific Federation Hosts Autumn Conference in the UK

London, United Kingdom, www.uk.gov.krd. The Kurdistan Medical and Scientific Federation (KMSF), in collaboration with the Kurdistan Regional Government Representation in the United Kingdom, held its Autumn Conference under the theme “Supporting Our Nation and Promoting Our Identity.”

The event brought together leading Kurdish professionals from across the UK, including medical, scientific, and academic experts. Among the attendees were Khasro Ajgayi, Head of the Communication and Development Department, and Shang Aziz, Manager of the KRG Representative Office.


Conference panels explored key topics such as the transfer of skills from British Kurds to the Kurdistan Region, the role of Kurds in British academia, and strategies to advance the health sector in Kurdistan. Discussions also focused on strengthening Kurdish participation in the UK’s academic, medical, and scientific communities.

Dr. Hossein Baktash delivered a presentation on empowering Kurds in the diaspora through the use of British and European platforms led by Kurdish professionals. He underscored the importance of creating opportunities for Kurds abroad to share expertise, enhance international visibility, and contribute to the development of the Kurdistan Region.

KRG Representative to the United Kingdom, Karwan Jamal Tahir, addressed the conference via video message, expressing appreciation to the KMSF leadership and members for organizing the event. He highlighted the Federation’s vital role in promoting Kurdish identity, advancing the region’s medical and scientific capabilities, and fostering the transfer of British expertise to Kurdistan.


In his remarks, the KRG representative reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting Kurdish organizations and the diaspora, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in nurturing innovation, strengthening cultural ties, and enhancing professional cooperation.
The conference concluded with cultural performances, including poetry recitals, music, and traditional Kurdish dance, celebrating the unity and resilience of the Kurdish community.
