KRG High Representative meets with the FCDO Iraq Team

London, United Kingdom, www.uk.gov.uk. KRG High Representative, Mr Karwan Jamal Tahir, was pleased to warmly welcome the new Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) Iraq Team, headed by Mr Alex Cocker.
It was a pleasure for the KRG UK Representation team and the FCDO Iraq and Kurdistan Region Team to meet and discuss the current issues in Iraq/KRI. There was a fruitful discussion about what the UK can do to encourage further economic investment and growth in the region, as well as the KRG’s appreciation for the shared security relationship between the UK and the UK and the UK.
The High Representative emphasised the importance of economic stability and its wider impact on regional security.
In addition to the upcoming elections in Iraq and KRI, the UK election was also discussed in terms of its impact on the day-to-day running of the FCDO, and it was agreed that after the election, talks would resume regarding political visits between KRI and the UK.
High Representative Tahir wished the team well and very much looks forward to a close relationship with new colleagues.
