Head of the Department of Foreign Relations meets with RUSI Director General

UK, London, RUSI, www.uk.gov.krd, Safeen Dizayee, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) accompanied by Karwan Jamal Tahir, KRG High Representative to the UK, visited the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) and received by Dr. Karin von Hippel, RUSI Director-General.

In the meeting, Safeen Dizayee briefed the attendees on the current situation in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the wider region, and highlighted the latest developments and conflicts between Erbil and Baghdad and their impact on regional security.

He also emphasised that the Kurdistan Region has never been part of the instability in the region and has maintained the balance of its relations at home and abroad. He added that the Kurdistan Region will remain committed until reaching a radical solution to all issues with Baghdad, and “we will continue our dialogues and emphasise the federal government and Iraqi political parties not to turn Iraq into a battlefield and protect the stability and security of the country.”
