Head of DFR receives APPG on Kurdistan delegation

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, www.uk.gov.krd. Safeen Mohsen Dizayi, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations (DFR), welcomed the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Kurdistan, chaired by MP John Slinger, and accompanied by Baroness Fiona Hodgson member of the House of Lords and Gary Kent secretary of the group.

The meeting which was also attended by Karwan Jamal Tahir, the Kurdistan Regional Government's UK high representative, saw Dizaei brief the delegation  the Kurdistan Region's current situation and the historical difficult and challenging stages the Kurds went through. Meanwhile he thanked the group for its consistent support to the KRG’s experiment and the issues its facing.


Head of the DFR highlighted the region's peaceful religious and ethnic coexistence amidst wider conflict, emphasising the risks and challenges, including expected displacement as a result of conflicts.

The chairman of APPG on Kurdistan John Slinger reaffirmed his country's commitment to strengthening partnership in areas, such as economic development, tourism, and public service reform. He praised the KRG's role in regional peace and stability.
