High Representative receives a delegation from the Council of the Union of Kurdistan Chambers of Commerce.

A delegation from the Council of the Kurdistan Chambers of Commerce Union led by Council member Haji Ismail Surchi, Ms. Shirin Yahya Khalil Erbil Chamber of Commerce Council member, and Council Communications head Azad Sherwani was received by KRG High Representative Karwan Jamal Taher.

The Kurdistan Region's economic and trade circumstances, as well as the region's bilateral trade relations with the United Kingdom were discussed by both parties during the meeting.

The Kurdistan Regional Government's High Representative emphasised the value of the Chambers of Commerce's involvement in UK business and economic forums and conferences, as well as the necessity of additional efforts to foster greater collaboration and stronger ties with the chambers of commerce and other economic and commercial institutions in the UK, as well as the participation in the international agricultural and tourism exhibitions held in the United Kingdom in which British and international companies participate, where the Kurdistan Region's agricultural products can be showcased to draw in British and international businesses.

In order to improve bilateral ties between the Chambers of Commerce and counterpart organisations in the United Kingdom, the High Representative of the Kurdistan Regional Government reaffirmed cooperation and coordination during the meeting.

The Council of the Union of Kurdistan Chambers of Commerce delegation emphasised the new board of the Union's endeavors to establish more communication channels and links with the UK trade and economic organisations, as well as with businesses worldwide in general for the purpose of increasing foreign investment in the Kurdistan Region. In addition, the delegation requested more collaboration with the KRG UK office to create a solid business plan for luring investment and business from the UK in the future.
