KRG High Representative Welcomes New UK Consul General Andrew Bizley

United Kingdon, London, ww.uk.gov.krd. The KRG High Representative to the UK, Mr Karwan Jamal Tahir, warmly welcomed Andrew Bizley, the incoming  UK Consul General to the Kurdistan Region, to the KRG Representation Office and congratulated him on his new role in Erbil.

In a meeting, the High Representative reaffirmed the KRG's commitment to support the new Consul General for the success of his tenure and further enhance bilateral relations and cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and the UK.

Andrew Bizley expressed his gratitude, stating that " being appointed as the new UK Consul General in the Kurdistan Region is very rewarding. I am looking forward to leading the diplomatic mission and further engaging with the people of the Kurdistan Region."

Both sides further discussed the strong relationship between KRI and the UK and mutually pressing issues, including bilateral ties in different fields and Erbil/Baghdad relations, emphasised the need for continued collaboration.


The new Consul General brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having held various positions within the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, and the UK Embassy in Baghdad.
