Safeen Dizayee meets with the Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee

United Kingdom, London, UK Parliament, www.uk.gov.krd. Safeen Dizayee, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), met with Alicia Kearns MP, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the UK Parliament.

The meeting, which was attended by Karwan Jamal Tahir, the KRG High Representative to the UK, the current development in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the wider region, the obstacles and outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad, and the tensions in the Middle East were discussed.  

Safeen Dizayee thanked the British Parliament for its continuous efforts to gather more support for the Kurdistan Region and promote strong relations between the Kurdistan Region and the UK. He called on the British Parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee and the UK government to intensify their efforts and play a more effective role in resolving the issues between Erbil and Baghdad and supporting the rights of the Kurdistan Region.

Alicia Kearns reiterated her support for the Kurdistan Region and stressed the continuity of her committee and friends of Kurdistan in the UK Parliament in supporting the progress and stability of the Kurdistan Region.

They also discussed the committee's follow-up on the UK government's relations with the Kurdistan Region, the relations between the Kurdistan Region and the UK, and the wishes of the Kurdish people.
