KRG High Representative attends the first Birmingham Kurdish Film Event

UK, Birmingham, www.uk.gov.krd. Karwan Jamal Tahir, KRG High Representative to the UK, participated in the first Birmingham Kurdish Film Event, which will last three days.

On the first day of the event, it was attended by a delegation from the Kurdistan Region, including the Director General of Culture and Arts of Slemani, the Kurdish Artists Union, the main characters of the 09 movie, the media, and a large number of Kurdish diasporas.

In a speech, Daro Aziz, artist and Director of the Birmingham Kurdish Film Event welcomed the guests on behalf of the board and organisers of the event and stated that the aim of the event is to present Kurdish films on international screens so that the Kurdish diaspora can see the films that are produced in Kurdistan.

After, the KRG High Representative to the UK in his speech thanked the board and organisers of the Kurdish film Event, emphasised that “in addition to cultural characteristics, such events, and festivals will be part of cultural diplomacy. He also stated that, "to move forward in this field, we need to work together with cultural organisations and film companies, r to build a bridge between Kurdistan and the rest of world and between institutions and centres of the film industries. He continued "The cultural events are aimed at building infrastructure and developing the film industry, thus introducing the Kurdish people and their culture and talents internationally and introducing people to the values that we Kurdish people hold will strengthen our Kurdish cause immensely."
