IBBC President holds a luncheon for the Head of the Department of Foreign Relations

United Kingdom, London, House of Lords, www.uk.gov.krd. Baroness Emma Nicholson, Member of the House of Lords, and president of the Iraq-UK Business Council (IBBC) in the UK House of Lords received H.E. Safeen Dizayee, Head of the Department of Foreign Relations in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

During the lunch, attendees included Karwan Jamal Tahir, Kurdistan Regional Government High Representative to the UK, and a number of businesspeople and representatives of British companies. Baroness Nicholson warmly welcomed H.E. and briefed the attendees of the work of their council and their efforts to develop relations between the two economies.

In turn, H.E. Dizayee expressed his appreciation to the IBBC and briefed the participants of the latest developments in the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the wider region. He also emphasised the business environment and investment opportunities in the Kurdistan Region.

During the meeting, H.E. pointed out the steps taken by the Kurdistan Regional Government to diversify the economy of the region and further develop the private sector. He invited companies and investors to visit the Kurdistan Region to see the stability of the region and the strategic projects currently taking place to develop economic infrastructure.

H.E. Dizayee thanked Baroness Nicholson and the IBBC for their continuous efforts to strengthen trade relations between the UK, Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
