KRG High Representative meets with Stephen Hickey

KRG UK High Representative Karwan Jamal Taher visited the FCDO and was warmly welcomed by ambassador Stephen Hickey Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the Foreign, Commonwealth and International Development.

High Representative highlighted the latest developments in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. Meanwhile, the issue of the Iraqi budget and the resumption of oil exports were discussed. Karwan Jamal Taher said that the citizens of the Kurdistan Region and the oil companies, including A number of British companies will be the most affected as a result of those issues.

During the meeting, light was shed on the bilateral relations. Stephen Hickey highlighted Britain's foreign policy and agendas towards Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

On another side, both sides discussed the priorities and the partnership between the Kurdistan Region and the United Kingdom, and also internal and regional concerns. Both sides emphasized on further strengthening partnerships and expanding mutual cooperation.
