Lincoln, UK, www.uk.gov.krd. Karwan Jamal Tahir, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) High Representative to the United Kingdom, attended the inaugural Lincolnshire Great Exhibition, which brought together more than a thousand exhibitors, delegates, and guests to celebrate innovation, enterprise, and investment opportunities across the county.

The event, held at the Lincolnshire Showground, was organised and hosted by Dame Andrea Jenkyns, Greater Lincolnshire Mayor. It showcased a wide range of Lincolnshire-based industries and products, including agricultural robotics, defence technology, and food production, highlighting the county’s growing reputation for technological advancement and manufacturing excellence.

Dame Andrea said she developed the exhibition to “shine a positive light on the county,” drawing inspiration from the Great Exhibition of 1851 in London’s Hyde Park. “The whole point of this is to get investment into Lincolnshire to future-proof our economy,” she added.

A special section of the exhibition was dedicated to international guests, offering an opportunity to strengthen partnerships between Lincolnshire and its global counterparts. During this session, High Representative Tahir highlighted the importance of deepening cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and Lincolnshire, particularly in agritech, food production, and defence industries.

He noted that Lincolnshire’s long-standing strengths align closely with the Kurdistan Region’s priorities for economic diversification. “Lincolnshire is famed for its history in engineering, agriculture, and innovation,” he said. “The Kurdistan Region is actively seeking to diversify its economy and needs world-class expertise in these very sectors. We see a clear, mutual benefit and a perfect match for partnership.”

High Representative Tahir further encouraged businesses to translate goodwill into tangible cooperation, emphasising the potential for mutual benefit. “Let us move beyond rhetoric,” he stated. “I urge every business leader and innovator here today to start a dialogue on mutual projects where the Kurdistan Region’s regional access meets the UK’s global innovation.”

The Lincolnshire Great Exhibition marked an important step toward promoting the county as a hub for global trade and investment, with the participation of regional leaders, diplomats, and business representatives underscoring the growing international engagement with Lincolnshire’s industries.
