KRG High Representative Receives Delegations from CHMK and Kanga

London, United Kingdom. www.uk.gov.krd –Karwan Jamal Tahir, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) High Representative to the United Kingdom, received Dr. Shwan Adam Aivas, President of the Kurdish Media Monitoring Organisation (CHMK), and Ms. Shawbo Mohammed, Director of the Education and Training Organisation (Kanga).

During the meeting, Dr. Aivas presented an overview of CHMK’s ongoing activities, as well as its future plans and projects, including the preparation for the Third National Conference on Media Reform. The participants held a detailed discussion on the organisation’s proposal to host the conference in London in 2026.

Mr. Tahir expressed his appreciation for the meeting and praised the vital and influential role of NGOs and civil society organisations in promoting democratic participation, strengthening institutions, and supporting the development of a professional and responsible media sector.

He also emphasised the importance of learning from the United Kingdom’s experience in media reform and reaffirmed the KRG Representation’s readiness to cooperate to ensure the success of the upcoming conference.
