KRG High Representative Attends 10th Anniversary of CAM Film Production Company in Birmingham

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) High Representative to the UK, Karwan Jamal Tahir, visited Birmingham to participate in the 10th anniversary celebration of CAM Film Production Company. The event was attended by Dr. Haval Abubakr, Governor of Slemani, representatives from the Iraqi Federal Embassy, artists, media professionals, and cultural organisations.

During the event, Kamaran Karim, the founder of CAM Film Production, highlighted the company’s mission, achievements, and its role in advancing film production and cultural initiatives. He shared insights into the company’s successes and its dedication to producing films, documentaries, commercials, and TV programs that promote Kurdish culture and values.

Dr. Haval Abubakr congratulated the company on behalf of Slemani Province, which is recognised as the cultural capital of the Kurdistan Region and a UNESCO City of Literature. He emphasised the strong connections between the Kurdish diaspora and Kurdistan, reflecting on the region’s role as a cultural ambassador worldwide.

The KRG High Representative commended CAM Film’s accomplishments, noting its contributions to the cultural and artistic sectors of Kurdistan and the UK. He expressed appreciation for the company’s efforts in producing over 120 diverse projects, including documentaries that serve as significant resources for education and cultural promotion.

In conclusion, the KRG High Representative reaffirmed the vital role of the Kurdish diaspora as ambassadors for Kurdistan and its culture.
