Pentagon about Shingal: ‘Kurdish forces on the ground are leading this fight’
WASHINGTON DC – Kurdish Peshmerga forces are leading the fight in Shingal (Sinjar) against the Islamic State group (ISIS), with US and coalition advisors behind the frontlines assisting in choosing targets to be hit from the air, the Pentagon said.

KRG High Representative calls for more British business presence in Kurdistan
London, United Kingdom - (KRG-uk.gov.krd) - Karwan Jamal Tahir, the KRG High Representative to the UK, at a high-level luncheon hosted by the Middle East Association, a leading trade organisation, urged for more British businesses presence in Kurdistan. As well as updating guests, including Baroness Nicholson of Winterbourne, the British Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Iraq, on the political relationship between Erbil and Baghdad and the Peshmerga’s fight against the brutal terrorist organisation, Deash.

KRG High Representative updates audience at British Parliament on the Peshmergas fight with Daesh and Kurdistan’s future
London, United Kingdom - (KRG-uk.gov.krd) - Karwan Jamal Tahir, the KRG High Representative to the UK, last night updated a high-level audience at a seminar organised by the European-Atlantic Group, in the House of Commons, on Kurdistan’s fight against Deash and its future within Iraq. Guests included Members of Parliament, Peers and representatives from the diplomatic and business community in London.
Mr Tahir stressed the need for the coalition forces to supply the Peshmerga with advanced military equipment that will enable them to defeat Deash, a brutal terrorist organisation that is a threat to the entire world. He said “Despite the current fiscal crisis caused by the government in Baghdad suspending the KRG’s share of the national budget as agreed in the constitution, and our fight with Daesh, Kurdistan remains to serve as a beacon of stability in the region with a democratic, multi-ethnic government, hosting 1.8 million Syrian refugees and internally displaced people from the rest of Iraq.”Read More ...
